As we navigate through the winter months in Illinois, there will come a time when you will drive down the road in adverse conditions. To help ensure your safety while on the road, it's a good idea to prepare your vehicle for winter.

We recommend that you take the time to check you're your tire tread for signs of wear. You can do this by checking the tread depth with a penny. If you see the entirety of Abraham Lincoln's head on inspection, then it's a good time to change your tires. It may also be a good idea to consider snow tires.

The next thing we recommend you do is to change your oil and add in antifreeze. Doing this will protect your vehicle against extreme cold while on your daily drive. It would be best if you also took the time to check the battery. During the winter months, your battery won't operate as efficiently in cold weather, so it's a good idea to check it to make sure it can charge your vehicle properly.
